Matthew 28:19-20New International Version (NIV)19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
There are two points that I would like to emphasize right now in this passage. The first is that we are meant to baptize and then teach. Discipleship is so important. Growth is the design of this command and we should continue to support and encourage and teach those that are baptized . This is the role of the church and the responsibility of all believers who follow the teachings of Jesus.
The second is the promise that comes with the command. Every command is connected to a promise. This promise is that Jesus tells us that he will be with us always. Always. What a wonderful knowledge we have of the love of Jesus that we are never without Him and that as we go forward with this command, we have the support of the King of kings in all we do. Hallelujah!
