Fear comes from Satan.
A military stronghold, especially a fortified town fit for a large garrison.
God is our fortress.
"The Lord is my [a]rock and my fortress and my deliverer,
My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold." Psam 18:2
If you have the fortress you have the upper hand.
